Abstract:

To obtain a medicine, such as an antiallergic agent, high in safety and capable of being easily produced by utilizing the water-soluble ingredient of an alga.

This medicine contains an water extract of an alga as an active ingredient, and can be utilized as an antiallergic agent, an antiinflammatory agent, a hyaluronidase-inhibiting active agent or a mast cell degranulation inhibitor. The active ingredient is obtained e.g. by cutting Cyanophyta, Cryptista, Vaucheriophyta, etc., into a size of about 2-5 mm, and subsequently extraction- treating the cut alga pieces with water at 25-600°C. The medicine can be added not only to the medicines but also to cosmetics and foods.
