Abstract:

To obtain an antiallergic agent and a food product, both having an excellent inhibitory activity against type I allergy, especially delayed type and ultra delayed type inflammatory reactions, and type IV allergy, exhibiting no adverse effect and capable of being taken or ingested for a long period of time.

The antiallergic agent contains an aqueous extract of Cynara scolymus as an active ingredient and the food product containing the same is also provided.
