Abstract:

To provide an antibacterial and antifoulant material which contains conductive and visible light sensitive titanium oxide having antibacterial and antifoulant activities toward easily oxidizable metal, and also to provide a manufacturing method of the titanium oxide.

The conductive and visible light sensitive titanium oxide is represented by formula TiO2-xNy (wherein, 0<x<1, 0<y<1). The conductive and visible light sensitive titanium oxide operates within the whole visible light region and has an electric conductivity of 100 μΩcm-100 kΩcm. The titanium oxide is obtained by heating TiO2 to 500°C or higher in a pure NH3 gas or mixed gas containing NH3.
