To provide an antibacterial and antifungal resin composition capable of exhibiting antibacterial and antifungal properties by the addition of an antibacterial and antifungal agent in an amount smaller than that in a conventional case to a resin; and to provide a molded article thereof.

The antibacterial and antifungal resin composition comprises (A) a superacid salt of a quaternary ammonium, (B) a polyolefin having a carboxyl group and/or a carboxylic anhydride group, and (C) another thermoplastic resin, and satisfies the following conditions (i) and (ii): (i) the absolute value |SPA-SPB| of the difference between the solubility parameter (SPA) of the component (A) and the solubility parameter (SPB) of the component (B) is ≤2; and (ii) the ratio of the weight of the carbonyl group in the component (B) to the weight of the component (A) is 0.001-0.18.
