Abstract:

To provide an antibacterial OP (over print) varnish agent preventing the decrease of the antibacterial effect caused by the penetration of water from outside into a designed printed layer or a printed material and capable of maintaining the antibacterial effect over a long period of time, an antibacterial printed matter by using the same, and a method of antibacterial printing by using the antibacterial OP varnish agent.

This antibacterial OP varnish agent is characterized by adding 2 to 5 pts.mass antibacterial agent containing silver oxide-zinc calcium phosphate and isopropyl alcohol based on 100 pts.mass OP varnish agent containing a solid resin, plant oil, a high boiling point petroleum solvent and a water repellent, and having 1 to 5 mass% content of the water repellent in the OP varnish agent based on the total of the whole components constituting the OP varnish agent.
