Abstract:
To provide an antibacterial polymer from which antibacterial component does not elute, which is safe to human body and environment, and the antibacterial activity does not deteriorate with time.
An antibacterial polymer comprises a repeating unit of a polyvinyl alcohol moiety with a composition ratio (mol%) m and a repeating unit of a polyvinyl alcohol introduced of parahydroxybenzoic acid as an acetoxybenzoic acid with a composition ratio (mol%) n of respective repeating unit in the antibacterial polymer. Here, m and n satisfy the following formulae: 0≤m≤99; 1≤n≤100; and m+n=100.
