Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an agent for imparting antibacterial property and exhibiting durable antibacterial action by supporting copper, zinc or their alloy on the surface of hydrous titanium oxide or titanium oxide particle.

CONSTITUTION: The objective antibacterial powder is produced by supporting Cu, Zn or their alloy on the surface of particles of hydrous titanium oxide (TiO2, nH2O) or various other hydrous titanium dioxide or normal titanium dioxide, etc., (preferably having an average particle diameter of 0.03-0.4μm) by evaporation, compaction, etc. The antibacterial powder can be used as an antibacterial composition by compounding to various kinds of resin, rubber, glass, etc., and as an antibacterial treatment agent for electric apparatus, furniture, interior decoration material, food-packaging material, etc.
