USE: A drug. An active ingredient for an antimicrobial agent, carcinostatic agent and suppressant against arterialization being expected to as a preventive and remedy for purulence, infectious diseases and ichorrhemia and a chemotherapeutic agent against malignant tumor and being expected as a preventive and remedy for diseases such as nodose rheumatism with the onset by abnormal multiplication of blood vessel, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of immature baby, senile macular degeneration and excess cicatrization in wound treatment.
PREPARATION: A bacterium such as Streptomyces NK86-0084 [FERM P-9432] belonging to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing novel antibiotic NK86-0084, is aerobically cultivated in a medium containing a nutrient usable by a ray fungus, the antibiotic NK86-0084 is formed and accumulated in the culture mixture and collected to give the compound shown by the formula.
