Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide early detection of thyroid cancer with blood samples by identifying a thyroid cancer-associated antigen present in the blood of thyroid cancer patients in a soluble form using an antibody that specifically bind to the antigen.SOLUTION: A thyroid cancer-associated antigen was isolated from the blood of a thyroid cancer patient and identified as a fibronectin with an N-linked sugar chain of which apparent molecular weight is about 250 KDa as determined by SDS-PAGE. We confirmed that, by using an antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof that specifically binds to the thyroid cancer-associated antigen, thyroid cancer can be diagnosed with a blood sample.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
