PURPOSE: To regulate lymphocyte effectively by cross conjugating at least two molecules conjugable with an antigen on lymphocyte such that each molecule exhibits reactivity to a different antigen on each lymphocyte.
CONSTITUTION: A heteroconjugate comprising at least two cross conjugated antibodies each exhibiting reactivity to a different antigen on the surface of lymphocyte is employed. These heteroconjugates are conjugated with a lymphocyte and act to bring respective cell surface antigens on which they react close to each other physically thus enhancing introduction of character or proliferation of lymphocyte or generating a reduction signal. In a preferred embodiment, an antibody reactive to T cell receptor or CD3 complex thereof is cross conjugated with an antibody reactive to second T cell surface antigen, e.g. CD2, CD4, CD6 or CD8, in order to accelerate activation and function of second T cell. Consequently, cellular immunological reaction can effectively be improved by regulating the lymphocyte.
