PURPOSE: The titled composition, prepared by incorporating a specific amount of a specified silane coupling agent in a flaky lining material containing an unsaturated polyester resin, glass flakes, etc., and having improved adhesivity to iron structures and anticorrosiveness for a long term.
CONSTITUTION: An anticorrosive coating material composition prepared by incorporating a composition consisting of 100pts.wt. unsaturated polyester resin, e.g. isophthalic acid unsaturated polyester resin, 10W70pts.wt. glass flakes, 0.5W 1.5pts.wt. organic peroxide, e.g. methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, and 0.01W5pts.wt. γ-methacryloxypropyldimethoxymethylsilane and vinyltrimethoxysilane alone or a mixture thereof with, if necessary, a coloring pigment, extender pigment, settling inhibitor, reaction catalyst, etc.
EFFECT: Anticorrosive films having improved impact resistance and thermal shock resistance is obtained.
USE: Bridges, ships gas marine structures.
