To provide a covering composition having high anticorrosive properties and screw characteristics without containing a chromium compound for keeping the environment.

The covering composition for the screw contains at least one kind of granular metals and at least one kind of binders in a liquid medium comprising water, a glycol compound and/or an organic solvent. The content of the granular metal based on the total of the granular metal and the binder is ≥70 mass%, and the granular metal contains a zinc alloy regulated so that the content of aluminum is <4 mass%, the content of zinc is at least 50 mass%, and the content of the total of the zinc and the aluminum is ≤100 mass% based on the mass of the granular metal. In the claim 2, the zinc alloy contains at least one kind of tin, magnesium and manganese in the anticorrosive coating for the screw described in the claim 1.
