Title:
ANTIDAZZLE POLARIZING PLATE MADE OF POLYCARBONATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0339903
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the polarizing polycarbonate lens having less optical strains by laminating polycarbonate films or sheets having a specific retardation value on both sides of a thin polarizable film formed by orienting dichromatic dyestuffs on a high-polymer film. CONSTITUTION:The polycarbonate sheets having >=2,000nm retardation value are stuck to one or both surfaces of the thin polarizable layer formed by adsorbing and orienting the dichromatic materials to the high-polymer film. Colored interference fringes are not generated at all or the generation thereof is lessened to a substantially negligible level in practicable use by using the polycarbonate sheets having the above-mentioned retardation value. In addition, the excellent impact resistance and heat resistance are obtd. as well. Not only the polarizing plate has the high merchandise value in appearance but also the plate is extremely excellent for eye's health and, therefore, this plate is adequate for antidazzle applications to goggles, sunglasses, windshields for motorcycles, windshields of helmets, shields, blinds, windshields of automobiles, sunvisers, etc.
