Title:
ANTIEMETIC CONTAINING SPECIFIC SUBSTITUTED PHENYLALKYLAMINO AND AMINO ACID DERIVATIVES AND COMPOUND SELECTED FROM OTHER SEROTONIN DRYING DRUGS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6466116
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an antiemetic exhibiting no anti-dopamine-active side effect, long in active period, and useful for suppressing nausea and vomiting, containing a specific substituted phenylalkylamino or amine acid derivative. CONSTITUTION: This antiemetic contains a compound selected from compounds of the formula (R is H, a lower alkyl, CF3 carboxyl or a lower alkoxycarbonyl; R<1> and R<2> are each H or a lower alkyl; Z is CF3 or a halogen), optical isomers thereof and pharmaceutically permissible salts thereof (e.g. fenfluramine, norfefluramine, p-chlorophenylalanine) as active ingredient. The compound exhibits antiemetic effect through releasing or suppressing the synthesis of serotonin in the brain so as to decrease intracellular serotonin level. Other compounds having the above-mentioned effect, including reserpine, tetrabenazine and 6-fluorotryptophan, are also effective as this antiemetic.
