Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyether based antifoamer composition with which an excellent anti-foaming property can be obtained by using a compound which is polymerised by adding a specific amount of a specific alkylene oxide per mol of a specific amide compound to be obtained by reaction of amines having primary amino group with carboxylic acids.
SOLUTION: An antifoamer composition which develops an excellent anti- forming property to a bubble to be generated in various processes of a paper pulp manufacturing industry, a building industry, a die industry, or the like is prepared from a compound which is polymerised by adding average 5 to 20 mol of a 2-4C alkylene oxide per mol of 12-45C amide compound having at least one active hydrogen group, obtained by a reaction of amines having a primary amino group with carboxylic acids. As the amide compound to be used, a compound obtained by a reaction of polyamines with monocarboxylic acids and/or hydroxymonocarboxylic acids, or a compound to be obtained by a reaction of monoamines with polycarboxylic acids is preferable.
