Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antifoaming agent for a kraft pulp producing process which has improved antifoaming characteristics even under the severe condition of high temperature, high alkali, and high shearing force and in which a pitch is generated very rarely.
SOLUTION: One or more kinds of polyoxyalkylene compounds having number-average molecular weight of 200-10, 000, wherein ethylene oxide, propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide are addition-polymerized in a random state so that there is ethylene oxide of 20-80 wt.% in these molecules, are contained in an active hydrogen compound having 1-6 carbon atoms and 1-4 active hydrogen atoms.
