Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable effective removal, control, etc., of foams generated in preparation of phosphoric acid by a method wherein an antifoaming agent used in the process is prepared from a compound expressed by the formula.
SOLUTION: As an antifoaming agent for phosphoric acid preparation process, a compound expressed by the formula R1-O-(R2-O)n-H (in the formula, R1 represents secondary alkyl group, R2 represents hydrocarbon group, and (n) is an integer of 1 or over.) is used. R2 is preferably a 2-4C alkylene group, farther preferably an ethylene group, and when R2 is groups more than two kinds, one kind thereof is preferably an ethylene group. The (R2-O)n part of the formula is obtained by additively polymerizing alkylene oxide or the like or ethylene oxide, propylene oxides, epichlorhydrin, etc. Further, in order to develope an excellent antifoaming effect, HLB of the antifoaming agent is preferably 10 or under. An additive amount of the antifoaming agent is preferably about 10 to 10,000 ppm to rock phosphate.
