Abstract:

To obtain the subject antifouling paint that contains a specific triphenyl borane-amine complex and a hydrolyzable resin composition, thus can manifest excellent antifouling effect for a long period of time by gradually releasing the complex as an antifouling agent in water and is useful for fish nets.

The objective antifouling paint comprises (A) a complex from a triphenyl borane and an amine of 6 or more carbon atoms (for example, a 8-20C alkylamine or an alkylanilin) and (B) a hydrolyzable resin composition [for example, containing a resin having the group of the formula: (CH2)m-COO- M-Ln (M is Si, Cu or Zn; L is an alkyl or the like; m is 0-2; n is the valence of M-1), or the formula: (CH2)m-N=CHR4 (R4 is a hydrocarbon group of 6 or more carbon atoms)].
