Abstract:
To provide an antimicrobial agent which is safe, producible inexpensively, and applicable to a wide range of use.
This antimicrobial agent includes one or more compounds selected from a group comprising berberine and derivatives therefrom, and magnesium oxide. Berberine or the derivative may be contained as a pure substance, or may be contained as a composition containing berberine or the derivative as a component. As a composition containing berberine or its derivative, for example, phellodendron amurense is preferably used.
