Abstract:
To obtain both an antimicrobial coating material for press coating capable of not impairing safety, transparency and smoothness and providing sufficiently antomictobial effect even by applying heat and pressure to the coating material during press coating and books coated with the antimicrobial coating material and press coated.
An aqueous acrylic emulsion resin to be applied to a picture 2 or letters 3 printed on a piece of paper 1 is mixed with 1.0-10wt.% of a silica gel-thiosulafato silver complex or zinc-2-pyridinethiol-1-oxide to give a coating material for press coating, which is applied to the side of the piece of paper to be printed and press coated.
