Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a gripper bushing assembly structure to be used relative to an injection mold, a molding machine and other machine.

CONSTITUTION: The gripper bushing assembly comprises an elongated flexible gripping sleeve 56 positioned about a column member such as a tiebar 16. The sleeve 56 is secured to a member such as a moving platen 20 and is used to clamp the platen to the tiebar in a desired location. In the clamping operation, an inner surface of the sleeve 56 is rubbed with the column, and the sleeve is deformed by hydraulic pressure to grip it.
