To prepare a new antimicrobial composition by combining a first amorphous antimicrobial agent containing a metal having germicidal actions with a second crystalline antimicrobial agent and further an antimicrobial wax composition comprising the antimicrobial agents and a wax.

The antimicrobial composition and antimicrobial wax composition are prepared by using a first antimicrobial agent having a film of an aluminosilicate containing at least one ion of a metal selected from the group consisting of silver, copper and zinc with a second antimicrobial agent consisting essentially of a crystalline silicon dioxide containing at least one selected from the group consisting of the silver, copper and zinc in combination on the surface of a porous silica gel. The total content of the first and the second antimicrobial agents is preferably 0.02-30wt.% in the case of the antimicrobial wax composition. At this time, the mixing ratio of the first to the second antimicrobial agents is within the range of preferably (7:1) to (1:7), more preferably (2:1) to (1:7). Any of an aqueous wax, an oily wax and an emulsifiable wax can be used as the wax ingredient.
