Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an antiobestic agent containing a component of bottle gourd, effective for suppressing the accumulation of fat tissue, exhibiting body- weight decreasing tendency, having excellent antiobestic action and useful for the treatment of obesity, hyperlipemia, etc.

CONSTITUTION: This antiobestic agent contains a bottle gourd component such as a solid material obtained by cutting dried bottle gourd fruit (dried gourd shavings, etc.), extracting with a solvent such as water and ethanol and distilling out the solvent from the extract. The extract component of the bottle gourd is preferably administered with water at a rate of 10-500 mg per dose and 2-5 doses a day.
