Abstract:
To provide an antioxidant agent which can prevent the formation of scale on the surface of a heated metallic material more effectively compared with conventional antioxidant agents.
The antioxidant agent comprises multiple glass frits having different softening points and an inorganic compound having a melting point of ≤600°C. The inorganic compound can be softened mostly in a low temperature range around 600°C. The multiple glass frits can be softened mostly in a temperature range of from 600 to 1,300°C. Therefore, the antioxidant agent can cover the surface of a metallic material in a broad temperature range and can prevent the oxidization of the surface of the metallic material and thereby prevent the formation of scale on the surface.
