To provide an antireflection film excellent in resistance to saponification, in such a way that even when the antireflection film without application of a protective film is immersed in an alkali solution for saponification in the process of producing a polarizing plate from the antireflection film, the antireflection performance does not change.
The antireflection film includes a hard coat layer and a low refractive index layer layered on one surface of a transparent substrate, in which the hard coat layer is formed of a polymer essentially comprising a polyfunctional monomer having a (meth)acryloyloxy group, and the low refractive index layer is formed of a low refractive index coating agent comprising at least a UV-curing material and low refractive index particles. The low refractive index layer is formed of a low refractive index coating agent comprising: a UV-curable material; and low refractive nanoparticles by 0.4 parts by weight or more and less than 0.6 parts by weight with respect to 1 part by weight of the UV-curable material.
