The antireflection film has a hard coat layer, a high refractive index layer and a low refractive index layer, layered in this order on at least one surface of a base film, and is characterized in that: the high refractive index layer contains a fluorene compound expressed by general formula (1) coupled with a carboxyphenyl group and/or its ester residue; and the low refractive index layer contains silica particles and a binder component. In formula (1), each of R1 to R4 represents an ester residue containing a carboxyl group or a carbonyl group, or hydrogen.
