To obtain the subject base coated with a specified antistatic layer on at least either side, not suffering from the generation of static discharge light, the deposition of dust and dirt, etc., having persisting adhesiveness and excellent transparency, antistatic properties, etc., and being useful for photographic films, etc.
There is provided an antistatic film base at least either side of which is coated with an antistatic layer containing (A) a reaction product of (A1) a carboxyl-containing water-soluble conductive polymer with (A2) a polyfunctional epoxy crosslinking agent and (B) a nonionic perfluoroalkyl(ene) polyoxyalkylene surfactant such as a compound of the formula (wherein R and R' are each H or a 1-4C alkyl; Z is a divalent bonding group such as -O- or -S-; m is 0 or 1; n is 3-16; x is n+1 or n-1; and y is 6-24).
