Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a composition having excellent flame retardancy and heat resistance, useful for an electric insulating material, etc., such as covering of an electric wire, by containing a specific flame retardant, an antioxidant, a sulfide compound and a hydrazide compound in polyolefin.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is composed of (A) 100 pts.wt. of polyolefin, (B) 5-50 pts.wt. of (B1) decabromodiphenylethane or (B2) decabromodiphenylamide of the formula, (C) 0-15 pts.wt. of a hindered phenolic antioxidant [e.g. 1,3,5-tris(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)-s-triazin-2,4,6 (1H,3H,5H)- trion], (D) 0-5 pts.wt. of bis[2-methyl-4-(3-n-C12-14alkyl thiopropionyloxy)-5-t- butylphenyl] sulfide and (E) 0-5 pts.wt. of decamethylene dicarboxylic acid disalicyloyl hydrazide.
