To provide an antitheft device that immediately senses the theft of baggage such as a bag and alarms both the baggage side and its owner side.
A first device has incorporated therein a sending part for sending electric waves, a receiving part for receiving the electric waves, and a code determining part for collating the electric waves received. An alarm part such as a buzzer with a loudspeaker producing sound to report loss or theft is also incorporated in the first device. A second device has incorporated therein a sending part, a receiving part, a code determining part, and an alarm part in the same fashion as the first device. The first and second devices normally exchange electric waves. The first device alternates the sending of electric waves a predetermined number of times and a reception standby state at predetermined intervals and, when unable to receive the electric waves from the second device, sounds an alarm, while the second device sounds an alarm after maintaining a reception standby state.
