NEW MATERIAL: A compound of the formula has a molecular formula of C59H80 N4O22S5, has 1357.65 of molecular weight, and has the infrared absorption spectrum having the absorption bands in 3534, 2955, 2920, 1720, 1670, 1590, 1575, 1405, 1425, 1395, 1350, 1290, 1230, 1190, 1135, 1095, 1050, 1000, 970, 730 cm-1.

USE: Antitumor agent.

PROCESS: The production strain of BMY-41339 of Actinomadura verrucosospora [preferably Actinomadura verrucosospora strain A1327Y (ATCC 39638)] is cultured in an aqueous trophic culture medium including the assimilative carbon source and nitrogen source under a submerged aerobic condition.
