Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of the formula. The compound has following physical and chemical properties: appearance: pale yellow amorphous solid or crystals: molecular formula: C18H18O3; elementary analyses(%): C 67.45, H 5.71; melting point: showing not a clear melting point up to 300°C; mass spectroscopy: FAB mass spectrum (M+H)+ 285.1247; solubility: slightly soluble in water, readily soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide; color reactions: positive to potassium permanganate reaction; a neutral substance.
USE: Antitumor agent.
PREPARATION: A line of Streptomyces such as Streptomyces sp. BA-12233 (FERM P-10492) is cultured preferably in a medium of pH4 to 8 at 25 to 30°C for 48 to 120 hours.
