Abstract:
To obtain an antitumor substance BE-60828 inhibiting the proliferation of tumor cell, showing an antitumor action, useful for treating cancers as an antitumor agent, etc., by culturing a bacterium belonging to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing BE60828.
This antitumor substance BE-60828 is shown by the formula, inhibits the proliferation of tumor cell of human and mouse and is useful as a therapeutic agent for cancers in the field of medicine. The antitumor substance BE-60828 is obtained by culturing a bacterium belonging to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing a compound of formula [e.g. Streptomyces sp. A60828 (Streptomyces sp. A60828 (FERM P-17788), etc.)], and collecting the product from the culture product.
