Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide novel compounds useful in the treatment of infection of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV), Rous sarcoma virus(RSV) and cytomegalovirus(CMV).

CONSTITUTION: By hydrolyzing compounds extracted from corms of at least one specy of the family Hypoxidaceae with oxygen, a compound of formula I (wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 represent same or differently -H, -OH, a group of formula II, a group of formula III, a group of formula IV or a group of formula V), for example E-1,5-bis(3'-hydroxy-4'-O-β-D-glucopyranosylphenyl) pento-4-en-1-in, is obtained.
