PURPOSE: An antproof agent, adhesive for antproof plywood and antproof plywood, containing N-cyclohexyl-N-methoxy-2,5-dimethyl-3-furancarboxamide (furmecyclox) and 1,1,1,2,6,7,7,7-octachloro-4-oxaheptane (S-421) as active constituents, having low toxicity to vertebrates and good physical and chemical stability without bad smell and capable of exhibiting antproof effect on termites, etc., for a long period.
CONSTITUTION: An antproof agent containing N-cyclohexyl-N-methoxy-2,5- dimethyl-3-furancarboxamide (furmecyclox) known as a wood preservative and 1,1,1,2,6,7,7,7-octachloro-4-oxaheptane (S-421), having insufficient controlling effect on termites alone but known as a synergistic agent for organic phosphorus based insecticides, etc., as active constituents is incorporated in an adhesive of the type condensing with formaldehyde to form an adhesive for antproof plywood. The resultant adhesive is subjected to the respective steps, e.g. application to veneers, lamination, etc., by the conventional method to afford the aimed antproof plywood.
EFFECT: No problem in safety and hygiene and environmental hygiene in production or treatment of the antproof agent, etc., is caused.
