PURPOSE: To perform bonding and cutting of an apex automatically and efficiently by advancing and retreating the head of an apex between a bead driving roller and an apex contact bonding roller when it comes to a place between a fixed guide roller and a measuring roller and by putting out an apex detection signal.
CONSTITUTION: When the head of an apex 5 comes to a place between a fixed guide roller 3 and a measuring roller 7b where these items abut each other, the head which protrudes from an outer peripheral portion 3b of a smaller diameter, it abuts the measuring roller 7b and a rod 7a is retreated little. A switch 7e in a proximity which detects the movement of the rod 7a puts out an apex detection signal to a pulse counter. The counter receives the signal and starts counting the rotation pulses that are put in from a bead driving roller 2, and when the measured value reaches to a predetermined value, the rotation of the bead driving roller 2 is stopped and at the same time a backward driving signal is sent to a cylinder 15.
