Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apotosis inducing agent capable of inducing apotosis to precancer cell and cancer cell and useful for the treatment of cancer by using methylchloroxanthine or chloroxanthine which is a kind of carotenoid as an active component.
SOLUTION: Methylchloroxanthine or chloroxanthine is used as an active component. The amount of methylchloroxanthine or chloroxanthine per unit dose is preferably about 1-500mg for oral drug, about 0.1-500mg for injection and 0.1-500mg for suppository in general. The drug having the above form is administered at a daily rate of about 1-1,000mg/kg, preferably about 10-1,000mg/kg for adult preferably in one or 2-4 divided doses.
