Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for adjusting gripping force of a vise, which easily adjusts the gripping force acting from a movable jaw toward a fixed jaw, particularly the gripping force generated by a force intensifying device, when a workpiece is gripped between the movable jaw and the fixed jaw.
SOLUTION: The apparatus for adjusting gripping force of the vise comprises a connecting portion 110 connected to a screw shaft 5 at one end portion 110a thereof, a gap holding portion 120 arranged in the axial direction of the connecting portion 110 via a hollow portion 121, a central shaft 130 inserted into the connecting portion 110 and the gap holding portion 120, and a first clutch 140 having a first stopper 141 projecting from a surface 140a' facing the connecting portion 110. Further, the apparatus for adjusting gripping force of the vise comprises an adjusting knob 150 which is fitted on the connecting portion 110 and the gap holding portion 120 and has a female screw 153 formed on the inside peripheral surface facing the hollow portion 121, and a second clutch 160 which has a male screw 162, which is located in the hollow portion 121 and is formed on its outside peripheral surface and engages with the female screw 153 located on the inside periphery of the adjusting knob 150, and a second stopper 161 for disengageably engaging with the first stopper 141.
