PURPOSE: To obtain printed matter having stable quality, by a method wherein the color of the printed matter is measured by an image sensor and the image thereof is displayed on a monitor and an operator inputs the important part of a picture pattern while confirming a printing state on the monitor to control the color to the color of a proofreading sample or the color at the time of the initial setting of printing.
CONSTITUTION: On the basis of the block diagram of a signal processing circuit, three image sensors (line cameras) 1 are used and filters are applied to respective cameras to take out R-, G-, and B-signals one at a time and said signals are started in an image frame memory 6 as an image. A computer 7 sends a signal to a camera controller 5 so as to acquire the image on the basis of the signal of a rotary encoder 3 and the image input is displayed on a monitor 8. An operator inputs the important part judged from a picture pattern from monitor 8 by an input apparatus such as a writing pen or digitizer to control an ink supply apparatus 4.
