PURPOSE: To correctly make directions of products uniform for efficiently boxing the products by a method wherein a controller detects a specific indication of a column-like object and generates a signal for stopping a rotation operating unit when the front face of the column-like object faces upward, a transport unit carries the column-like object into a box with the posture maintained, and an elastic guide guides the column-like object.
CONSTITUTION: A endless belt 9 of a conveyer 2 supplies column-like objects 1, 1 in a standing state, a roll operating unit 3 receives the column-like objects 1, 1 in the forefront on a receiving board 11, a lever 18 senses them to stop the endless belt 9 and drive an actuator to have the column-like objects 1, 1 rolled. An air cylinder 23 of a transfer unit operates to operate a pushing rod reciprocatingly to have the column-like objects 1, 1 mounted on each pair of rollers 26. Each pair of the rollers 26 rotates to have the column-like object 1 rotated. A control unit of a rotation operating unit 4 detects a bar code of the column-like object 1 and stops the rollers 26 when the front face of the object faces upward. Due to operation of the air cylinder 42 of a transport unit 6, a suction cup 36 puts the column-like objects 1, 1 in a box 5. At this time a guide plate 50 is bent along a wall of the box 5 so that the column- like objects 1, 1 can smoothly enter the box 5.
