PURPOSE: To enhance classification accuracy, by separating the globular powder and flaky powder in a powder between a plate-shaped feeder and the endless belt conveyor provided above said feeder and separating both of them by utilizing the difference value between the charge characteristics and charge attenuation degrees of both powders.
CONSTITUTION: A raw material powder 14 is supplied to a plate-shaped feeder 1 vibrated from a hopper 3 and moved to the right to be charged. Next, DC high voltage is applied to a high voltage electrode 7 through a DC high voltage source 8 and a belt 6 is charged by corona discharge generated and charge is also applied to the powder on the plate-shaped feeder 1. In this case, since a flaky powder 14a having sharp projections is unequal in charge density and partially high in charge density and a charge attenuation degree, said powder 14a is attracted and adhered to the under surface of the belt 6 by the action of Columb force. Since a globular powder 14b is low in both of the charge density and the charge attenuation degree, said powder 14b immediately discharges to be fed on the feeder 1.
