To provide an apparatus for control of an energy storage device in a hybrid locomotive, capable of properly taking the partial charge of the loads of a generator and the energy storage device, and also keeping the efficient operating state of the generator.
The DC output unit of a storage battery 8 is connected to the load 12 of a locomotive in parallel with the output unit of the generator 2, and a charge-discharge controller 9 has a voltage control function for controlling an output DC voltage into a desired value, and the voltage control function has a drooping characteristic which changes an output voltage command value according to an output current, to a reference voltage command that becomes a reference, and can adjust the inclination (droop) of the drooping characteristic and/or a reference voltage value (cut piece). What is more, it is desirable to decide the reference value corresponding to the power set value of the generator.
