Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the precision of intake air flow at the time of idling of an internal combustion engine.
SOLUTION: When the speed of an automobile is a prescribed value or higher, an idle switch is turned on, the speed of rotation of an engine is a prescribed value or higher, and a prescribed slowing-down state during fuel cut is detected (S1-S4), an auxiliary air controlling value is forcibly opened by a prescribed degree (S6), the rate of change of mass intake air flow ΔQR at the time is calculated (S7), the ratio ΔQR/ΔQC of the rate of change of mass intake air flow ΔQR to the rate of change of mass intake air flow in the same condition in standard state ΔQC is calculated as the rate of change of the atmospheric density (S8), and based on the rate of change of atmospheric density, the opening control quantity of an auxiliary air controlling valve is corrected (S9).
