To improve cooling effect of a rolling mill roll for forming shapes.

A plurality of cooling nozzles 1 are arranged along the peripheral direction of the outer periphery 21 of the rolling mill roll 2. The centers 1a of jetting of cooling water jetted from the cooling nozzles 1 are each crossed orthogonally to rolling faces 22a and the cooling water is collided directly to only these rolling faces. In this way, the cooling water is blown in a concentrated manner and at high heat conductivity onto the rolling faces 22a which are brought into direct contact with the rolled material and reach the highest temperature and high stress.
