To provide an apparatus for degasifying and purifying molten aluminum metal, which is suitable for improving the durability of a stirring means, and to provide a degasifying and purifying method.
The apparatus for degasifying and purifying the molten aluminum metal is directed at removing impurities such as hydrogen, oxides and non-metallic inclusions in the molten metal, while stirring the molten metal with the stirring means 4 immersed in the molten metal of Al or an Al alloy, which has been teemed into a treatment region; and has a heating means 7 for approaching to the stirring means 4 waiting in its waiting position and preheating it to raise the temperature. The degasifying and purifying method comprises the steps of: firstly heating the stirring means 4 with the heating means 7 to raise the temperature; then immersing the stirring means 4 into the molten metal; and removing the impurities in the molten aluminum metal while stirring the molten metal with the immersed stirring means 4.
