Title:
APPARATUS FOR DETECTING AIR BUBBLE OF INK-JET RECORDING HEAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2939457
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bubble-detecting apparatus of an ink-jet recording head which can simply and fully decompose air bubbles and at the same time considerably efficiently detect air bubbles inexpensively in a short time to a plurality of nozzles.
SOLUTION: An electrostrictive vibrator 5 is set in each ink passage 3 of a plurality of nozzle 4. A driving voltage is applied to the electrostriction vibrator 5, thereby to discharge ink drops in an ink-jet recording head. The ink-jet recording head is provided with an air bubble detection means 7. The detection means 7 always detects during a printing operation whether a voltage generated at the electrostrictive vibrator 5 because of a volumetric change of the ink passage 3 is an excessive voltage not smaller than a driving voltage, thereby to detect the presence/absence of air bubbles in the ink passage.
