Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a different type of fiber detector in which a thread structure can be loaded easily and the measurements are insusceptible to the thickness of the thread structure.
CONSTITUTION: A structure 1 having a measuring region constituted as a smooth slit 2 is subjected to half mirror finish toward the inside and/or applied with a paint layer 5 performing diffuse reflection. The thread structure 3 is then irradiated with light from a plurality of light sources D1-D3 such that the thread structure is irradiated from all directions in the measuring region. The light sources D1-D3 are arranged and regulated such that the luminance of light reflected from the thread structure 3 and received by a sensor 4 corresponds basically to the background luminance when a different type of fiber is not present.
