PURPOSE: To rapidly position a measuring head by arranging the measuring head so as to traverse over the width of printed matter by using a regulating drive device and providing a positioning input device to the measuring head within an ink zone having a registration mark.
CONSTITUTION: Winding paper 11 travels under a measuring head or a traverse in the direction shown by an arrow and the measuring head is arranged to the traverse movable in a longitudinal direction. The longitudinal movement is performed through a screw spindle 12. The input of the position of the measuring head is performed by a control keyboard 1 and the position of a registration mark 8 is detected from a printing plate 7. After the operation of a command introducing key 15 starting the positioning of the measuring head, an operator operates the key 16 positioned at the region where there is the registration mark 8 within a key region 4. By this constitution, the position of the registration mark is inputted within the control keyboard. A command is issued, that is, the positioning of the measuring head is performed through an input key 17 and a motor 13 moves the measuring head 9 to the range of the position of registering paper 14 applying printing to the winding paper 14 on the basis of the command at a time of printing.
