Title:
APPARATUS FOR DETECTING QUANTITY OF INTAKE AIR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02205722
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To avoid the effect of back fire on a detecting element without increase in pressure loss in a low flow rate region by providing a shielding member whose cross sectional area which is perpendicular to a plate surface is larger than the cross sectional area perpendicular to an intake air path for an intake-air-quantity detecting element at the peripheral part of a throttle valve. CONSTITUTION:A shielding member 22 is provided at the peripheral part of a throttle valve 20. The cross sectional area of the member 22 in the perpendicular direction to the plate surface of the throttle valve 20 is larger than at least the cross sectional area in the perpendicular direction with respect to an intake air path 2a of an intake-air-quantity detecting element 10. The detecting element 10 is contained in a tubular body 1 which is provided in parallel in the intake air path 2a. The cross sectional area of the shielding member 22 in the perpendicular direction to the plate surface of the throttle valve 20 is approximately equal to the opening surface of the tubular body 1 in the perpendicular direction with respect to the intake air path 2a. The cross sectional area of the shielding member 22 in the perpendicular direction to the plate surface of the throttle valve 20 is reduced toward the outer surface end of the throttle valve 20 in a three-dimensional shape. In this constitution, the effect of back fire on the detecting element 10 is avoided with the shielding member even when the throttle valve 20 is fully opened.
