Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately detect the temp. in a cylinder with high response even at the cold start time of an engine. CONSTITUTION:A control unit judges the cold start of an engine on the basis of the temp. or cooling water detected by a water temp. sensor and, when the temp. of cooling water is equal to or lower than set temp., said control unit supplies a current to a heater to generate heat to stabilize the temp. of an internal temp. detection part 18. By this constitution, infrared rays emitted corresponding to the temp. in a cylinder are incident on a casing 1 from the window part 1A thereof and an external temp. detection part 7 outputs the detection signal corresponding to the temp. in the cylinder. A differential amplifier compares the detection signal from the external temp. detection part 7 with the detection signal from the stabilized internal temp. detection part 8 and outputs the difference between both signals to the control unit as a temp. detection signal.
