To judge whether or not a cassette holder holds a ribbon cassette in which an ink ribbon satisfying recording conditions is stored.

There are set an information management means 38 for detecting a type of the ink ribbon held to a recorder, an information setting means 37 for setting recording conditions, and a warning means 32 connected to each of the information management means 38 and the information setting means 37 for warning when the ink ribbon 17 satisfying the recording conditions is not held to the recorder 1.
